From a single render to hundreds of shop windows

Development and production of a family of window displays for the launch of a new sunglasses collection, reproduced to the same standard of finish across hundreds of stores in Spain and Portugal.

Red, white and black campaign window displays with built-in graphics for the launch of a sunglasses collection

The brief

The brand was launching a new sunglasses collection and needed the campaign to have the same impact at the point of sale as in its advertising. The starting point was a render: an image of how the window display should look.

The challenge

Turning an image into pieces that could be manufactured and, above all, repeated. In a network of hundreds of optical stores every point of sale is different, and the hard part of a launch like this is not making one beautiful window display, but making sure the last one looks exactly like the first and that they all arrive in time for launch day.

The solution

We developed a family of window displays with red, white and black structures and the campaign graphics built into the pieces themselves, carrying the campaign from the shop window right through to the counter.

The family was produced at our own facilities and reproduced to the same standard of finish across hundreds of stores in Spain and Portugal.

What the client says

“We needed the same campaign image to arrive identical at store number one and at the last one on the network. That's exactly what we got.”

Context

What matters in a launch across hundreds of stores

01

Design to be repeated

Every piece has to be manufactured, packed and assembled in exactly the same way hundreds of times. That is decided at the design stage, not in production.

02

Validate before multiplying

A prototype with the final finishes and graphics stops a poorly resolved detail from being repeated across the entire network.

03

Think about assembly

If each store's own staff set up the window display, the instructions and the number of parts matter as much as the design.

04

Plan backwards

The launch date is fixed. Prototype, production, packing and shipping are all scheduled back from it.
